Welcome to my “Yet Another PeaceCorps Blog!” My name is Mikaela and I’m from a very small town in the middle-of-nowhere Vermont. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and I am beyond proud to be a Vermonter. My love for traveling began in 2011 when I studied abroad in Morocco. Since then, I’ve known Peace Corps was in my future, it’s just been a matter of when. Now I know: On February 7, 2016, I began my 27 month journey in Tanzania as an agriculture volunteer working on food security. This blog will chronicle my emotions, adventures, and experiences as I face the inevitable roller coaster of volunteer life abroad. Enjoy!
